Summer practices are strongly encouraged for those athletes wanting to reach their full potential. Athletes who run over the summer will be better prepared and less injury prone when the official practice starts in August. Remember to bring water to these practices. Congratulations to ALL athletes and coaches for getting to and performing with great distinction at the Region 1 meet!! Every runner did a great job and every alternate was on the course cheering for their teammates. Tremendous effort and wonderful sportsmanship by all. We are so very proud of all athletes and our coaches. Our best wishes are with the boy’s team as they will compete in the State Meet in Round Rock on Saturday.
Relatively few pictures for this meet. If there EVER was a time to cheer instead of take pictures, this was it! Not many pictures, and not even all runners are included. My apologies.

Really beautiful course, but there are only 2 good vantage points to get pictures of the girls due to the sun and design of the course. It is far easier to get pics of the boys’ teams as there are additional Kodak spots due to the extra length of their course. As always, if there is a picture you’d like, let me know at gavinp_tx@yahoo.com, and I’ll send it to you. Glad to help.

Boys and Girls varsity teams move on to the regional meet after each finishing third against a deep and talented field at Saturday’s District 6-5A competition in Denton. The junior varsity boys came in second and the junior varsity girls took fifth place. Among varsity boys, Connor Adams (4) and Curtis Patton (7) finished in the top 10. Clara Poston (5) and Dana Ramstad (7) made the top 10 among varsity girls. Brandon Thomas (4), Michael Teeple (7) and Jesse Vigil (8) were among the top 10 finishers in the JV boys race. See the full results here.

Great course to run, but tough for photos since the runners are only visible at a couple of key places. Wish I could have gotten a pic of our JVB champions, too.

Two apologies. First, very sorry it has taken me so long to post these pictures. Also, this was a tough course for pictures. Great course, but it had few vantage points for picture-taking. I really didn’t get a good lay of the land until after the VG race - too few pictures of the VG. So, apology #2 goes out to the VG.
